WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
If you are not a Christian but would like to explore Christianity, Essentials is for you. It is also for those who are Christians but would like to grow in faith and knowledge. If you would like to become a member of The Church of the Incarnation or enter more deeply into our community, attending Essentials is an important step.
WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF THE COURSE?
Each session includes dinner, teaching, and discussion. The course runs from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. one night a week (usually Wednesdays), for 5 consecutive weeks. The church will also provide childcare. Beginning March 26, 2023, we will have our first Sunday afternoon session! Sign up using the link at the bottom of this page.
WHAT IS THE CONTENT OF THE COURSE?
Each week covers a different topic about Christianity, including: gospel, worship, discipleship, community, and mission.
WHY DO WE OFFER ESSENTIALS?
The Church of the Incarnation strives for unity around a basic expression of "mere Christianity". So Essentials is designed to be useful for anyone who follows Jesus in any context. The course enables people with diverse experiences and expectations to more clearly understand the core beliefs and practices of Christian life together.
I CAN'T TAKE THE COURSE THIS TIME AROUND. WHEN WILL IT BE OFFERED AGAIN?
Essentials is offered three times a year: typically Fall, Winter, and late Spring or Summer.
WHAT ARE THE DATES?
The spring session will begin on March 1, 2023. Additionally, we will have another session on Sunday afternoons, from March 26 to April 30 (no meeting on Easter Sunday 4/9), from 12:15pm-2:15pm.
