children at incarnation

We welcome and encourage families and children to attend our in-person services (both indoors and outdoors). We love to have children join us in worship! During the sermon, there will be a Bible story time for children in kindergarten through fifth grade (masks required). Our Nursery Nook and Toddler Room is available for parents and nursing mothers to use as needed. Alternatively, we invite you to join us at 10:30am every Sunday for online worship.

Additionally, on Fridays at 10am, we have a gathering via Zoom for children ages 3-10. We invite your children to join us. Please email Vicki, our Children's Ministry Director, to register.

Christians are formed in the community

We partner with families in four main areas as they seek to raise children who give love and loyalty to King Jesus.

CHURCH

We strive to be a healthy church, where our children can know and be known by other Christians.

WORSHIP

Our Sunday morning worship service is our most important children's ministry. By worshiping with us, our children are formed in the Christian faith.

HOME

The rhythms of our worship service overflow into the home through helpful spiritual practices like following the Christian Calendar, having regular times of devotion, and participating in the Examen

PROGRAMS

We offer the following programs for children.

*Please note that these programs are currently suspended due to COVID. However, the Nursery Nook and Toddler Room is open and available for parents and nursing mothers to use as needed.

  • Nursery (Ages 0–1)

The nursery nook in the foyer is available for infants. Screened and trained volunteers provide care for infants, so parents can remain in the worship service. The space is also available to nursing mothers. Parents, please fill out the sign in sheet before returning to the sanctuary. Infants are picked up during the Passing of the Peace portion of the service, to join the congregation in the sanctuary for Eucharist.

  • Toddler (Ages 1–3)

The toddler room is located in the back hallway, just passed the bathrooms. Screened and trained volunteers play with and care for children, so parents can remain in the worship service. Parents, please fill out the sign in sheet before returning to the sanctuary. Children are picked up during the portion of the service, to join the congregation in the sanctuary for Eucharist.

  • Children (Ages 3–9)

Godly Play explores the mystery of God's presence in children's life through Scripture, liturgy, and imagination. We believe that a robust spiritual life is not a product but a process in a lifelong journey. As a church we want to walk alongside each child as they learn to encounter God 's presence and trust him more and more in age appropriate ways.

For 3-6 year olds, our Godly Play classroom is located at the end of the back hallway. Two trained volunteers teach children the story of the Bible through play, storytelling, and wonder. We ask that all children be seated in the classroom by 10:10, at which time the doors close and the program begins. Children join their parents in the sanctuary during the Passing of the Peace. . This program runs from September through the end of May, when children can join their parents in the sanctuary during the summer.

For 6-9 year olds, we offer Godly Play during the seasons of Advent and Lent. Children begin the service in the sanctuary with the entire congregation. They are dismissed prior to the sermon. They meet in the lobby with two trained volunteers who teach the story of the Bible through play, storytelling, and wonder. Children rejoin their parents in the sanctuary during the Passing of the Peace which is just prior to our celebration of the Lord's Supper each Sunday.
