- Nursery (Newborns – Steady walkers)
Our Nursery is staffed during both services by screen and trained volunteers who will care for your child. It can also be used by nursing mothers or guardians who need a comfortable place to be with their babies during the service. Babies can be dropped off at the start of the service and picked up during The Peace portion of the service.
- Toddler (Steady walkers – 3 year olds)
Our Toddler Room is available during both services where your child will be played with and cared for by dedicated, screened, and trained volunteers. Toddlers can be dropped off at the start of the service and picked up during The Peace portion of the service.
- Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (Ages 3 – 6)
During both services, 3–6 year olds are welcomed into our Atrium* where Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Christ centered, Montessori-inspired approach to inviting children to know and encounter God, occurs. Catechists (screened and trained adult leaders) present short stories and parables from Scripture, as well as liturgical practices, in ways specifically designed to meet the spiritual needs of 3–6 year olds and help them fully engage in Incarnation's worship services.
*The Atrium is a prepared environment where the "Mystery of God meets the Mystery of the Child." In it, children have the freedom to engage with beautifully crafted and thoughtfully selected materials that invite them to worship and work, sing and pray, and in essence – be with God.
You may drop your child off before the service as early as 8:50am or 10:30am and pick them up during The Peace portion of the service for participation in the Lord's Supper with the rest of the congregation. The Atrium is open from mid-August to mid-June, and children are encouraged to participate with the congregation in the full worship service during the summer.
- Elementary Program (Age 6 – 5th grade)
During both services, faithful, screened, and well-trained volunteers use a sensorimotor style of storytelling to present stories and parables from Scripture to the children in developmentally appropriate ways that facilitate listening to and encountering God, rather than just learning about him. A response time follows in which children can continue to interact with the story and other relevant materials. The flow of the time corresponds with the order of congregational worship and promotes full engagement in Incarnation's worship services.
Children are dismissed to go upstairs with an adult volunteer before the sermon and will return to you during The Peace portion of the service to participate in the Lord's Supper with the rest of the congregation. The program runs from mid-August through mid-June, and children are encouraged to participate with the congregation in the full worship service during the summer.
