Children

Christians are formed in community. We  work with parents in four areas as they seek to raise their children to give love and loyalty to King Jesus.

Church: We strive to be a healthy church, where our children can know and be known by other Christians.

Worship: Our liturgy is our most important children's ministry. By worshiping with us, our children are formed in the Christian faith.

Home: The rhythms of our worship service overflow into the home through helpful spiritual practices like following the Christian Calendar, having regular times of devotion, and participating in the Examen

We provide a light touch of programming that is consistent

with our overall philosophy for both children and Youth.

Here are the programs that our church provides:

Infants and Toddlers

We provide the following care for children on Sunday mornings for both services, 8:30am & 10:45am:

Nursery (ages 0-1): There is a nursery in the foyer staffed by two screened volunteers, who will watch and care for your children while you remain in the worship service; you may attend to them at any time.

Toddler Room (ages 1-3): There is a toddler room down the back hallway staffed by two screened volunteers, who will watch and play with your children while you remain in the worship service; you may pick them up later in the service during the Passing of the Peace.

Godly Play

Godly Play is program developed by Rev. Dr. Jerome Berryman, based on Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, that explores the mystery of God's presence in children's life through Scripture, liturgy, and imagination. We believe that a robust spiritual life is not a product but a process in a lifelong journey, as church we want to walk alongside each child as they learn to encounter God 's presence and trust him more and more in age appropriate ways.

Godly Play (ages 3-6): There is a Godly Play classroom at the end of the hallway, where two trained volunteers will teach your children the story of the Bible through play, storytelling, and wonder. We ask that all participants be seated in the classroom by 10:10, at which time the doors close and the program begins. Your child will be brought to you during the Passing of the Peace. This program runs from September through end of May, children are encouraged to sit with their parents during the summer.

Godly Play (ages 6-9): Godly Play is offered during the season of Advent and Lent for ages 6-9 years old. The children meet in the lobby during sermon and prayers of people where two trained volunteers will teach your children the story of the Bible through play, storytelling, and wonder. Your child will be brought to you during the Passing of the Peace.

YOuth Family

The Church of the Incarnation Youth Family seeks to lead middle and high school students to fully embrace the Lord Jesus Christ and His Kingdom at the center of their lives.

This happens through weekly teaching that is relevant and powerful, shown through meaningful relationships with adults who have contagious faith.

Fun is essential to Youth Family because play is a primary vocation of youth.

We set a rhythm for youth by meeting in large group once a week and in Small Groups with friends and adults during the week.  We have monthly "over-the-top" fun that will amaze and captivate our students.  We also have recurring retreats throughout the year (fall, winter and spring).

Youth Family typically meets each Sunday evening at the church from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  All 6th through 12th graders are welcome!  For more information, please contact Interim Youth Director, Eric Kennedy at eric@theincarnation.org
