In accordance with the new CDC guidelines for those who have been fully vaccinated, our governor’s plan to end the COVID mitigation measures, and our Bishop’s new rules for indoor worship we are very excited to return much closer to normal indoor worship beginning Sunday, May 30.

  • For children, we leave masking to the discretion of the parents.

a few notes:

The 8:30 service is a transitional service we offer for those who are not yet fully vaccinated or who have health concerns. When possible, we will change the guidelines for this service so that it looks exactly like the 10:30am service (i.e., masks optional, etc.).

As you can see, we are asking adults who are NOT fully vaccinated to wear a mask while indoors in accordance with our Bishop’s requirements and the CDC recommendations for masking for those who are unvaccinated. This is a loving layer of protection and consideration both for our vulnerable parishioners, and for our young children who do not yet have access to a vaccine.

eucharist

Our practice of Eucharist (the Lord’s Supper) will also take a significant step toward normalcy. We will now allow everyone in the sanctuary to process forward toward the platform.

In the 8:30am service we will have one single file line down the middle aisle of the church, and we ask each household to socially distance from others while in line.

In the 10:30am service we will have two single file lines down the middle aisle of the church. Social distancing is not required.

Unfortunately, we are not ready to return to the common cup. In both services, when you arrive at the front of the line, cup your hands and hold them out in front of you. The person serving communion will pronounce the words of distribution and dip the bread in the wine and place it in your hands. You may consume the bread at that point, before returning to your seat. This is way of serving communion is temporary. We look forward to returning to something closer to our normal pre-covid practice asap.

other gatherings

As with the 10:30am worship service, all other gatherings of our church (small groups, committee meetings, ministry teams, etc.), social distancing is no longer required, masks are optional for those who are fully vaccinated, and masks are required for those who are not fully vaccinated.
