What's happening?
This Sunday, July 5, at 10 a.m., Incarnation is having an outdoor worship service! We are so looking forward to being together, hearing from God's Word, celebrating several baptisms and sharing the Lord's Supper, and hanging out for a socially distanced picnic afterwards.
Where and when is this happening?
This Sunday, July 5, we'll be meeting at the Cook family farm, 1631 Silver Lake Road, Dayton, VA 22821. The service will start at 10 a.m., so show up a bit early to find a comfortable spot to set up chairs or a blanket.
What should I bring?
There are several things you'll need to plan to bring, for during and after the service. Use this list to ensure you've got everything you need!
- A mug or cup for Holy Communion. (To distribute communion safely, we'll be pouring the wine into a mug for each household.
- Blankets / chairs. (We'll be gathering in a field. You'll need something to sit on!)
- Sunscreen / hats
- Bug spray
- Water
- A picnic lunch. (Please stick around afterward and enjoy a picnic lunch after the service! We'll all bring our own food, utensils, napkins, drinks, etc.
- Anything else your household might need to be comfortable outside during the service (snacks, diaper / wipes, etc.).
Hey, wait – what if it rains?
If it rains, our outdoor service will be rescheduled for Sunday, July 12. If this does happen, please join us for livestreamed worship online! No in-person service will be held at the church building that Sunday.
Is there anything else I need to know?
As always, just keep in mind that folks have different comfort levels. Please maintain six feet between other households. And know that we are working hard to honor local, state, and federal guidelines, while staying up-to-date on the guidance of the medical community through regular consultation with physicians.
