292 N. Gallery is the gallery side of Arts Incarnate. The gallery is located inside The Church of the Incarnation at 292 North Liberty Street in Downtown Harrisonburg, Virginia. Parking is provided in the public lot directly beside the church building, across the street from L&S Diner.


Our gallery is home to various exhibits throughout the year and currently changes with the seasons.

  • Carolyn marshall wright

    summer 2020

    Award-winning watermedia artist Carolyn Marshall Wright paints as an emotional response to the world around her, seeking to make beauty and truth known through her art.  Her work is luminous with vibrant color, confident in composition and expressive in its impressionistic brushwork.  Both Artist’s Magazine (May 2020) and Watercolor Artist (August 2020) have recently profiled her work. @carolynpaints

  • Joyce McCarten

    fall 2020

    Joyce McCarten has lived in Northern Virginia all of her adult life. Though her studio is in Falls Church, Virginia, she has traveled the world in search of the colors, surfaces, and structures that satisfy her artistic eye. She has painted and taught art classes in Africa, China, Europe and all over the U.S. From small plein air paintings, McCarten uses her imagination and her skills as an experienced artist to make large abstract oil paintings. Her intention is to convey a sense of place or a feeling.

    Leslie Banta is a Staunton, VA-based artist and educator. She is fortunate to live in the idyllic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, where she can always see the clouds and minimalist landscapes she loves to paint. She finds the landscapes and color compositions are a great way of keeping nature’s beauty close at hand.

    spring 2021

    JoEtta Deaton has a B.A. in Art and an M.A. in Theology. Married to Michael for forty-four years, a mother and grandmother, she's taught art to children and adults. She blends all these experiences with a heart and hunger for nature and our Creator God, to paint landscapes, townscapes and figures in oil, exhibiting primarily in the Shenandoah Valley.

  • Mary jennings

    summer 2021

    Mary Jennings lives in the Washington, DC area where she has established her career as an artist and educator. After earning her BFA from Moore in Textile Design, she expanded her professional skills to include interior design, decorative/mural painting and is currently the Artist-in-Residence with Salamander Resort and Spa in Middleburg, VA. Over the years, her art has appeared in juried shows, earned awards, she has appeared in HGTV Bed and Bath shows, served as a mentor and judge for eBay business start-up competitions, and facilitates corporate groups with art related team building and creative branding exercises.
