The Glory of God and the Good of the City
The Church of the Incarnation exists for the glory of God and the good of the city. Our aim is to foster personal renewal and community transformation through shared faith in Jesus Christ. We are united by an astonishing claim: “Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.” As followers of Jesus, our lives have been changed by this good news, and our hope is to share it with the world.
We believe that a healthy church is two dimensional: vertical and horizontal. People experience reconciliation and peace with God vertically, which moves them to worship and serve Him. Horizontally, people build relationships and are moved to serve those around them.
Our prayer is that Harrisonburg will reflect the reign of Jesus Christ as we experience his grace and follow him, leading our city to new heights of flourishing and wholeness. The gospel compels us to share our lives with each other, cultivate our relationship with God, engage in joyful congregational worship, and seek the good of our city through prayer and service.
